Bee populations are crucial for the environment, contributing significantly to pollination and the production of honey. However, when bees establish hives in residential or commercial areas, they can pose challenges for property owners.
Bee Chillin’ Honey is a family owned chemical free, beekeeping venture based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
All of our honey is 100% raw and sourced from our hives in the coastal pristine bush land. Our honey is only taken from the hives, when frames are fully capped, ensuring the quality and flavours are never compromised. Frames are taken to our extraction room, where the capping is removed by our heat free cylinder decapper, spun with centrifugal force at room temperature, before passing out through our sieves on the way to settling tanks. Honey is then hand bottled and labelled ready to be enjoyed by our loyal customers.

Honey Production

Swarm Removal
Currently we are approaching 200+ production hives, with the aim of 400-500 in the next couple of years.
We are still attempting to split my time between caring for my girls (bees), allowing them to provide amazing honey, and to saving each swarm and colony of bees we are called to collect. To date we estimate, we have rehoused over 100 swarms and removed over 80 colonies for inside homes and buildings on the Sunshine Coast and surrounds.
Our Story
Bee Chillin’ Honey started when a swarm of bees that landed on our family trampoline in our backyard in 2013.
After having some experience with bees from about 10 year of age on our family farm, I decided to keep and care for these bees. The bees flourished and with some help of a local beekeeper mentor, I split this original hive and continued to grow my small beekeeping hobby. With my love of bees, and the number of my hives continuing to grow, my mentor asked me if I would like to tag along to a cutout, help him out and learn how to do removals safely. Although this first cutout felt daunting, with my mentor encouragement we managed to remove the bees and comb and save the colony. Impressed with my enthusiasm and positive approach, it wasn’t long before he was giving me more removal jobs – I think it was his way of getting a young bloke to do removals as he was having some health and mobility problems. What was once a hobby, is now almost a full time job.
We Care About What We Do
We are passionate about providing our customers with good quality products at value for money prices while at the same time doing what we can to protect the health and well-being of bees.
More and more people are beginning to realise the importance of bees and the vital role that they play in our survival. Without bees and their pollination a lot of the food that we love and enjoy would not exist.
And when it comes to bee rescues, I can remove swarms and bees that have made a home inside your house, building or tree.

Some of our other products are: Pure beeswax candles, Block wax, Honey and Creamed honey (Plain, cinnamon, chocolate).
We are experimenting with our Mead varieties and hope it may be available in the near future. I’m passionate about bees and beekeeping. I was hooked from the very first day I worked with honey bees. Since then I have been on a quest to learn everything I can about these fascinating insects. My goals at Bee Chillin’ Honey is to be to build a successful business while saving the bees.
